Obama Buys Books to Promote Independent Shops
ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — President Barack Obama made a quick trip to a Virginia bookstore for some Christmas shopping.
The president took his daughters, Sasha and Malia, to One More Page Books in Arlington, Va., on Saturday afternoon.
The White House says Obama was promoting an effort called “small business Saturday” to encourage shoppers to patronize mom-and-pop businesses after Thanksgiving.
At the store, Obama held up his BlackBerry, apparently looking up a book title as he spoke with shop owner Eileen McGervey. He said “preparation” was the key to his shopping.
Obama brushed off a reporter’s question about the looming “fiscal cliff,” saying “we’re doing Christmas shopping.”
The White House says Obama bought 15 children’s books that will be given as Christmas gifts to family members.

How did this happen?
I’ve gotten myself in a situation that I thought would be okay. I let it happen. Now, I’m beginning to regret somethings I’m subjecting myself to. I thought it would be okay if I let myself be “the other woman”. I KNEW what would come with it. But now…it’s getting harder and harder to fight these feelings of depression and anxiety. I know I shouldn’t be concentrating on nothing but my daughter, school, and work, but…I wanted to have an opportunity for romantic love. I WANTED to be loved by someone. While I got it, I don’t. I’m second rate; I’m number two. I knew that when I started but I FEEL TOTALLY HORRIBLE.
I want to scream and cry and punch things.
…maybe this is the Depo shot side effect. Maybe I’m going crazy. I don’t know.
I need to figure this out before I make a huge mistake. Hopefully I haven’t made one already.
